
Edwin Lee CFA, CAIA
Chief Executive Officer
As CEO of Covenant Capital, Edwin leads the firm’s strategic direction and drives business growth. He started his career with Salomon Smith Barney (SSB) in 2000, providing comprehensive investment advice to individual and institutional clients over the course of 12 years. As the key manager for the team’s discretionary multi-asset class portfolios, he oversaw the team’s portfolio decisions, including the use of options to hedge and generate income.
Following the stint at SSB, he spent two years with DBS as a private banker, advising both high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families. Before co-founding Covenant Capital, he was with Swaen Capital, an independent asset manager based in Singapore, leading the global asset allocation portfolio management team.
Edwin graduated from the Nanyang Technological University’s Nanyang Business School in 2000 with a Bachelor of Business Studies, majoring in Financial Analysis. He obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2003 and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation in 2007. He is also a member of the CFA Institute, CFA Singapore and the CAIA Association. He currently serves on the Association of Independent Wealth Managers, Singapore, as the committee member overseeing Education.
For leisure, Edwin enjoys mountain biking, running and adventure sports. He also serves as chairman of the board of a local church and currently holds the appointment of division liaison officer in his military unit.

Edward Lim CFA
Chief Investment Officer
Edward has 20+ years of financial industry experience including various investment management roles since 1997. He has been an investment manager since 2001 including the last decade running absolute return mandates. As the CIO of Covenant Capital, he is responsible for the firm’s overall investment strategy including all discretionary and advisory mandate.
Prior to forming Covenant Capital with Edwin, Edward was headhunted to start up Tokai Tokyo’s first asset management firm outside of Japan in Singapore where he also served as their CIO and was responsible for running their Asia ex-Japan equities absolute return fund. He was the Head of Asia Equities in TRG, a leading global emerging markets macro hedge fund and also led the Long/Short Strategy group in Citigroup Principal Equities Strategies based out in Asia. Before he joined Citigroup, Edward held dual roles as Senior Portfolio Manager and the Head of Research for BNP Paribas Asset Management in Asia. Edward started his investment career as an investment analyst with Citigroup Private Bank and DBS Vickers Research.
He is a CFA charter holder since 2001 and graduated with a Magna-cum-laude Honors, BBA from the University of Oklahoma. Edward also achieved the President and Dean’s Honor Rolls for several years and was awarded the Oklahoma’s Bankers Association and Farmers ’Insurance Scholarships.
Edward enjoys endurance sports and have done Ironman and Spartan races. In his free time, what he enjoys most are his whisky and cigars.

Tay Kian Ngiap
Chief Operating Officer
Tay Kian Ngiap has more than 10 years of financial industry experience, which entails a wide spectrum of middle and back office experience including fund administration, investment and finance accounting, day-to-day settlement and reconciliation issue resolution. As the COO of Covenant Capital, Kian Ngiap is responsible for managing the Company’s compliance and operations roles.
Before Covenant Capital, Kian Ngiap was with a boutique hedge fund since its inception and was part of the inaugural team, where he built his knowledge and experience for 5 years. He then moved on to become an Account Manager for the World’s largest fund administrator, Citco Fund Services for 4 years. His contributions in Citco included onboarding new businesses to the firm and increased profitability for his Clients. He then moved to Swaen Capital and played a key role in the establishment and overseeing of the Covenant Asia Equity Absolute Return Fund operations. Additionally, he also played an instrumental role in improving workflows, tightening processes and keeping Operations and Compliance policies relevant to the market conditions.
He was part of the pioneer batch of students from Singapore Management University and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Management, majoring in Finance and Accounting and is still participating in the school’s Alumni activities.

Lawrence Chin
Executive Vice President, Relationship Manager
Lawrence is a highly experienced investment advisor whose career has come full circle and he has now returned to fulfilling his original passion of advising and guiding clients in global financial markets investments with Covenant Capital.
A veteran in the financial services industry with over 38 years of experience, he commenced his financial career as a corporate banker in Bank of America where he stayed for 8 years before joining Lehman Brothers managing investment portfolios over the next 10 years.
He was solicited by Smith Barney in 1998 and became a successful Investment Management Consultant, advising high net worth and institutional clients in Asia on the development of investment policies, asset allocation, selection of portfolio managers, as well as performance evaluation and monitoring.
Lawrence was appointed Manager of Citi Smith Barney’s Singapore branch in early 2007 and took on the role as CEO of Citigroup Global Markets Singapore Pte. Ltd. Following the integration with Citi Private Bank in 2008, Lawrence was subsequently given the added responsibility of being the Investment Centre Head for Citi Private Bank where he had oversight for the Singapore Booking Centre activities and ensured that the business met all regulatory and policy requirements, as well as working with regional market heads to support their business in Singapore.
He retired from Citi in 2015 and joined ex-colleagues in Swaen Capital Pte Ltd where he stayed for 3 years.
Lawrence graduated from the University of Southern California and held Series 3, 7, 9, 10, 63, 65 licenses administered by the U.S. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), as well as MAS licenses 1, 3, 5, 6, 6A, 8, and 8A.

Bryan Chin
Vice President, Relationship Manager
Bryan Chin joined Covenant Capital in Oct 2019 to pursue his interest in the financial markets and wealth management. His interest in the industry was piqued during his time in an internship program with Citi Wealth Management in Singapore in 2014. However, upon completion of his studies in 2016, he was roped in by friends to participate in a start-up company focusing on marketing. He then followed his interest and passion in the world of audio-visual technologies and system integration including 3D rendering as lead interior architect and system designer.
It was during this period when Bryan recognized the vast growth potential in the area of Software as a Service, Cloud Computing, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Med-tech, and Data, all of which represent vast growth opportunities for the discerning investor. Bryan’s objective is to work with investors to provide guidance on how best to supplement a traditional portfolio with equities and funds representing the next industrial revolution in which disruptive technologies and trends are changing the way we live and work.
Bryan is an experienced Scuba diver, a passionate cyclist on and off road, and regularly plays ultimate frisbee on the weekends having represented the Singapore Students Society at his university. He is also an active member and designated convoy leader of Porsche Club Singapore (PCS).
Alma mater include University of Sydney, Technical and Further Education NSW, Sydney Church of England Co-Educational Grammar School.

Soon Kay Hock
Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager
Kay Hock has more than 30 years of experience in the investment industry.
He started his career with Overseas Union Bank in 1986. He was an economist for the first 2 years before becoming a portfolio manager handling both institutional and private clients’ funds for the next 8 years.
In 1995, he joined Singapore MRT Limited where he managed their investment portfolio. He was responsible for setting the investment policy, asset allocation and the execution and monitoring of the investments. Besides managing the in-house funds, he was also responsible for the selection and monitoring of external asset managers.
In January 2001, he joined Citigroup Global Markets as a financial consultant. He held the position of Senior Vice President and Senior Investment Management Specialist. His responsibilities include prospecting, servicing, advising and managing private clients’ portfolios. A major part of his business was managing clients’ money on a discretionary basis. He continued his practice for more than 16 years until August 2016 when he left to join Covenant Capital.
Kay Hock is a graduate of National University of Singapore with Bachelor of Arts degree and an Honours degree in Economics. He completed his CFA examination in 1992.

Richard Lee
Senior Vice President, Relationship Manager
Richard Lee is a veteran in the wealth management industry spending over 40 years in the finance industry. Prior to joining Covenant Capital, he was working for Citigroup as a wealth adviser since 1994. He has also overseen the strategic development and business operations of one of the key teams in the business unit.
He joined the finance industry back in 1975 as a fund manager for Chartered Unit Trusts. From 1976 to 1994, he held various positions with international financial institutions such as Bache Halsey Stuart Shields, Lehman Brothers and Salomon Smith Barney, providing investment services and managing investment portfolios for institutions and high net-worth private clients.
Richard graduated from the University of Singapore in 1972, with a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) degree, majoring in Economics.

Adeline Wee
Senior Vice President, Relationship Manager
Adeline has over 20 years of experience working in the financial industry.
She started her career in Citibank where she worked as a relationship manager spending 4 years at the bank. She then took the opportunity to join UBS AG covering the Swiss market.
Adeline joined Malayan Banking Berhad in 2012 where she spent 7 years with the bank, helping to establish the private banking platform with a focus on Malaysian clients. Before joining Covenant Capital Adeline was in BNP Paribas Private bank for the last 4 years, covering high net worth clients and family office in South East Asia.
In 2015, Adeline was awarded Outstanding young private banker award given by the Private Banker international.
Adeline graduated from the university of Monash with a degree in Bachelor of Business (majoring in Accounting and Finance).
In her free time, she loves spending time with her son and daughter and their golden retriever! She also enjoys floral arrangement and shares her joy through floral Jamming sessions.

James Meyer
Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager
James has been in Singapore for over 10 years and in the Investment Industry since 1998. His career includes working in Toronto, London and latterly in Singapore. He has worked for HSBC, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank and UBS. In 2017 he left UBS Wealth in Singapore and began his journey as an Independent Manager.
James joined Covenant Capital in March 2020 as Portfolio Manager, after 3 years at TriLake Partners. He looks after Singaporean and International clients based in Asia and Europe. Thanks to his international experience he has broad knowledge of issues faced by clients with exposure to multiple geographies. He emphasizes a ‘broad holistic’ approach in his client offering, using his personal network of complementary professionals to help address wider needs of the clients; wealth planning, corporate fund raising, and tax optimisation, relocation etc.
James is British, Singapore PR, his wife is French, his children are Dual National. He is former Triathlete, having competed several IM and 70.3’s, he remains a keen cyclist, runner, skier and sports fanatic and has recently competed his first Swim Run in NZ. He enjoys Wine collecting, Travelling and Classic Cars.
James is also a charity supporter, and he devotes time to Equal Ark, Willing Hearts and sits on the AIAM Charity Fund Raising committee, he also uses his sporting events to raise money.

Keith Tan
Vice President, Relationship Manager
Keith began his career at Barclays Capital as part of the Graduate Programme, based in Singapore. He was sent to the London head office for training and did rotations across different desks during his 2-year stint at the investment bank.
He later moved into wealth management and joined Citibank and Standard Chartered as a Senior Relationship Manager, where he provided investment and wealth planning advisory for private clients and their families. Throughout his career, he has served high-net worth clients based in multiple jurisdictions including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, UAE and Europe.
He has also won several accolades during his banking career including the Excellent Service Award (EXSA) – a Singapore national award, in recognition of service excellence whilst at Citibank.
Keith graduated from Nanyang Technological University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours). He also holds the Associate Estate Planning Practitioner (AEPP) designation.
Keith is a passionate football fan and has been playing the sport since young. He also enjoys water sports, having represented his school’s canoeing team back in the day.

Elaine Chew
Associate Relationship Manager
Elaine joined Covenant Capital in April 2022 after a 12-year career sabbatical. She grew up in Malaysia, studied in the United Kingdom and started her career in Singapore which she now calls home. In Singapore, she has 7 years’ experience within the Wealth Management industry, pivoting between Assistant Relationship Manager roles and Relationship Manager roles in Citibank and HSBC Private Bank.
At Covenant Capital, Elaine works closely with the banker teams in managing the client accounts. She enjoys working with people and is very service oriented. She finds joy and fulfilment in helping clients and keeping them happy!
Elaine graduated from the University of Bath with a degree in BSc (Hons) Business Administration. She spent 7 years in the United Kingdom and also gained numerous work experiences there in companies like HSBC, Procter & Gamble and AON Limited.
In her spare time, Elaine enjoys travel and seeing the world. She also enjoys exploring the nature trails in Singapore and goes on hiking trips regularly.

Damien Long CFP
Investment Analyst
Damien has 20 years of financial industry experience including last 10+ years in investment analysis and investment management roles focusing on value-investment and concentrating in South East Asia markets. In his current role, he supports the CIO as an Investment Analyst specialising in bottom-up stock coverage across key industries such as global oil and gas, regional consumer plays and Southeast small-cap stocks.
He had a dual role of Fund Manager and Business Development with Aegis Portfolio Managers Pte Ltd who specializes in investing in “multi-baggers” in small mid cap investments in Asia ex-Japan. Damien was responsible for generating investment ideas and conducting due diligence on companies in the Consumer and Lifestyle, Food and Beverage, Oil and Gas and Healthcare Sector.
Before he joined Aegis, Damien was Product Manager for Investment and Insurance products at an international bank. He started his career as a Credit Analyst and Relationship Manager at a local bank.
He is a Certified Financial Planner (“CFP”) holder since 2006 and graduated with Distinctions, BSc from Indiana University at Bloomington.

Josh Le CFA, MSc in FE
Portfolio Manager
Josh Le started his investment career with Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2008 and he subsequently joined Star Financials, a trading firm, and Conrad-Ottess Private Asset Management, a Singapore-based family office. He oversaw Long Short portfolios as well as Long only and Momentum portfolios in Conrad-Ottess. Alongside the CIO, he co-manages several of the firm’s discretionary and advisory mandates.
His key expertise is in portfolio management and trading as well as financial modelling many of the firm’s investment analytics.
Josh graduated with a Master of Financial Engineering from Nanyang Technology University, Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from National University of Singapore and obtained Cert. of Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University. Josh is also a CFA charter holder.

Bryan Sum
Investment Analyst
Bryan started his trading and investments career as an intern at Covenant Capital. Following which, he joined Genk Capital’s proprietary trading desk as a futures trader and market maker.
In his current role at Covenant Capital, he supports the CIO and investment team in equity research. He also has a passion for position and swing trading growth stocks.
Bryan graduated from the National University of Singapore with an honors degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in 2017.

Gordon Ong
Investment Analyst
Gordon graduated from NTU in 2019 with Double Degrees in Accountancy and Business, First Class Honours. He was also the President of NTU’s Investment Club.
During his studies, Gordon interned at DBS, HSBC, InvestingNote, PwC, and Standard Chartered Bank.
He currently supports the CIO and Investment Team in discretionary portfolio management. His role is to conduct equities research in the technology sector, fund research, and placing trade orders and rolls.

Christine Ho
Operations Analyst
Christine Ho has 20 years of private and institutional client customer service and operations experience. Over the years, she served more than 15 senior financial consultants, supporting them in various aspects of client engagement, trade and operational support. As the operations analyst with Covenant Capital, she supports the team’s operational & administrative needs.
She started her financial career as a secretary with US securities brokerage firm Kidder Peabody, Hong Kong, in 1993 and an operations assistant with Paine Webber, Hong Kong, in 1995. In 1996, she followed the team to join Salomon Smith Barney Hong Kong Limited in 1996 and Citigroup Global Markets Asia Limited, Hong Kong as Senior Sales Associate in 2002. In 2003, she relocated to Singapore and settled down with her family.
She continued her senior sales service role with Citigroup Global Markets Singapore Private Limited until Sept 2014. She worked across business , functional and regional lines to provide clients with integrated solutions that meet their needs.
Tight follow-ups and swift responses are hallmarks of her work, with a keen focus on understanding clients and exceeding their expectations. She is an excellent team player and effective in backing up teammates. Operational seamlessness and continuity in servicing accounts with teammates are key priorities for Christine.

Lek Hui Ting
Operations Analyst
Hui Ting has more than 7 years of working experience in client servicing firms. She started her career as an auditor with BDO Malaysia and subsequently pursued her professional development with Tricor Singapore, a leading business service provider that operates out of 21 countries.
With her solid background in accounting, she currently supports the COO to manage the finance and compliance needs, which includes the MAS reporting and financial reporting of Covenant Capital. She is also actively involved in the liaison with both internal and external auditors for the Company as well as the funds that the Company manages. She helps to identify the potential pitfalls in the workflows and to streamline the processes to increase efficiency.
Apart from that, she supports the team’s operational needs to keep the internal portfolio management systems well-maintained. This includes the day-to-day trades and cash reconciliation and pricing updates.
She is a graduate of the University of Hertfordshire with a Bachelor (Hons) in Accounting. She enjoys acrylic paintings in her free time.

Marcus Chew
Operations Analyst
Marcus Chew started his career in the World’s largest fund administration firm, Citco Fund Services (Singapore), as an Operations Analyst under the reconciliations team for a year. Citco Fund Services (Singapore) is a leader in international finance, deeply involved in establishing the Eurobond and hedge fund markets. He has a deep understanding of trading, positions and cash reconciliation processes and liaises with prime brokers and counterparties to resolve breaks for all open items.
In his current role at Covenant Capital, he supports both the COO and RMs in their day to day activities. He is heavily involved in the middle and back office operations which includes fund administration, daily trade and cash reconciliations, FX and pricing updates, liaising and managing fund services with related professional providers and engagement with custodian banks. He also assists in preparing client reporting statements and associated materials like factsheet research and supports teams of RMs in their business development role.
Marcus is a graduate of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) with Bachelor of Business (Economics and Finance).
He is passionate about windsurfing and has competed in local and international races. He is also currently giving back to his Alma-mater by coaching the Windsurfing Team. Besides Windsurfing, Marcus also plays the Piano and Cello and is part of the Covenant Jam Band.
